Note from the developer:

Some time ago a good friend of mine went through a really rough breakup. He was devastated, truly heartbroken. One afternoon he came by my place and said, "I wish you could create an app that would make this go away." He was reaching for something to help him get through the pain he was feeling.

Going through a breakup is a process and he needed time, but maybe I could do better to help him through it. If I was going about helping him out the wrong way, maybe other people were too. Maybe a breakup app wasnt such a bad idea.

I started doing some research. I read books, articles, blogs, etc. I wanted to know how to most effectively go about helping my friend get through his breakup.

I decided to get some consultation from a professional, a well educated and licensed therapist. In our first conversation I had a two simple questions for her, "If you had a client who was going through a bad breakup, what homework would you give them when they left your office? What could they do at home to start feeling better faster?"

These simple question turned into a great conversation that opened my eyes to all of the mistakes I was making in my efforts to cheer up my friend. We discussed strategies for processing a breakup and the importance of maintaining physical health during a breakup. She also helped me with topics like tone, motivation, empathy, and so much more.

If you are reading this now, you are probably going through a breakup yourself. Let me tell you that I am sorry to hear it. I have been through more than one myself and they are never fun. The really rough ones can feel truly debilitating. Please remember that there is nothing wrong with you, breakups are just the worst.

Im not a doctor myself, or a licensed therapist. From my research, the best things you should do are: take care of your physical health, dont bottle up your feelings, and try to remove yourself from your ex as best you can. If you want some extra help and motivation, thats what this app is for.

I poured the lessons I learned during my research into this application and sincerely hope that I have created something that can truly help people.

The application is fairly straight forward. Every day it provides you with a list of goals for the day. Some goals are daily, some every few days, and some weekly. You are provided a journal to vent your frustrations as well as different topics to help you process the breakup.

While you are getting better you will be able to track your progress with a chart based on your own data. For each of the first 30 days you will have different messages and images. The whole package is written and designed to help you get through this difficult process quicker and healthier.

If you are going through a breakup, this is the app. Please give it a try and provide feedback so that I may continually improve it. Either way, know that you are not alone. That its going to hurt, but that you will be OK.

Sincerely,

Justin
